More Than Basketball

IBA truly believes in the process of developing not only better basketball players but men of character. Developing leaders of tomorrow through lessons learned on the hardwood. We take a very process driven approach to basketball development. A process that focuses on improvement and maximizing their potential.

Class Room Expectations

We expect players to practice hard work, dedication and focus in the classroom. All players are expected to be dedicated in the classroom as on the basketball court. Test scores under 80%, missed homework, etc. Will result in extra conditioning at practice and could lead to less minutes on the court. We offer a homework club before and after practice, tutoring.

Community Expectations

Being good team mates and teamwork extend past the hardwood. We reach out the community and have several community service events throughout the year. The boys have prepared Thanksgiving baskets to needy families and holiday stockings stocked with goodies for our military veterans. This past month the boys led a sneaker drive to fight cancer. Learn more about our community service here.

Team Off Court Events

IBA truly embraces the process. A group of players battle and work throughout the year form a bond that closer to a brotherhood than a team. We encourage the players to spend time outside the court. We host a Christmas party where boys exchange books. We celebrate birthdays together and watch sporting together. It is all part of the process.

Guest Speakers

We invite leaders of the community to speak the players about what it takes to be mentally tough, resilent and how to overcome obstacles amoung other important lessons. The more we expose our players to postitive community leaders the more the message will sink in.
